Custom Typography. Built Around Your Needs.

Custom typefaces help organisations communicate with a distinctive and consistent voice. Designed around specific needs rather than generic use, they can support multiple languages, reflect the character of a brand and perform reliably across digital and physical environments. Whether developed as a completely new design or adapted from an existing typeface, a custom solution offers greater control, flexibility and long-term value than standard retail fonts.

Custom Typefaces

A custom typeface gives organizations complete control over one of the most visible elements of their identity. Designed specifically for a brand, publication, institution, or product, it can reflect a distinctive character while meeting precise functional and technical requirements.

Each project is developed around its intended use, from the scope of the character set and language support to the number of styles, weights, and widths required. Beyond the design of the letterforms themselves, careful attention is given to implementation, licensing, and long-term usability, ensuring that the typeface performs consistently across all applications.

For larger organizations, a custom typeface can also become a highly efficient long-term investment, providing a unified typographic system while reducing the complexity and cost of managing multiple commercial font licences.

Font Modifications

Modifying an existing typeface is an ideal solution for clients seeking something distinctive without investing in the development of an entirely new custom typeface.

Based on consultation, we can recommend and select a suitable design from our commercial font library and adapt it to specific requirements. Modifications may involve anything from a single characteristic letterform to a broader set of custom alterations, including the creation of additional styles. The resulting font can also be renamed to reflect the identity of the commissioning organization or brand.

Where appropriate, these projects can be accompanied by an exclusive licence tailored to the client’s needs.

Extended Language Support

For organizations and brands operating internationally, maintaining a consistent typographic voice across multiple languages and writing systems is essential.

We can extend our typefaces with additional language support, including expanded Latin character sets, Cyrillic, and Greek. Further writing systems can also be developed upon request, ensuring that a brand retains its visual identity across all markets and audiences.

Logotype Development and Refinement

Most brand identities are built around letterforms. Typography is our discipline and our passion — a craft shaped by precision, experience, and a deep understanding of form, proportion, spacing, and visual balance.

We work closely with clients and designers to refine logotypes through careful adjustments of details, optical corrections, spacing, and structural relationships. Whether assisting in the development of a new wordmark, recommending complementary typefaces, refining existing letterforms, or modernizing established logos, our goal is to help brands achieve greater clarity, distinction, and longevity.

Custom Fonts Licensing

Licensing defines how a typeface can be used, shared and protected over time. Fonts from our library are licensed according to the number of installations, views, or specific usage scenarios. These licences are purchased once and remain valid indefinitely. Custom and modified typefaces are also subject to licensing. In addition, we offer exclusive licensing options that grant the client sole usage rights for an agreed period, ensuring that no other organization can use the same typeface during the term of exclusivity.

How is a custom typeface created?

The process of developing a custom typeface is always unique, just like the typeface itself. Every project depends on its specific context, requirements, and complexity, which means the timeline can range from a few weeks to several months. The following outline represents a comprehensive overview of a typical custom type project.

1. Client Brief

Together, we review the project’s goals, requirements, intended use, stylistic direction, as well as technical and licensing considerations.

2. Concept Development

We prepare initial concepts and design directions, defining the typographic approach and exploring the fundamental character of the typeface.

3. Presentation + Feedback

The concepts are presented and evaluated, providing valuable feedback that guides the next stage of development.

4. Initial Character Set

We create a core set of representative characters and, where appropriate, preliminary styles to establish a clear vision of the final direction.

5. Presentation + Feedback

The work-in-progress is presented for review, and feedback is incorporated into the design.

6. Full Character Set and Styles

The complete character set is developed and all required weights, widths, or styles are produced.

7. Presentation + Feedback

The finished typeface family is presented across all styles and application examples. Final adjustments are implemented.

8. Delivery of Final Fonts

We deliver the completed font files in all agreed formats, together with the necessary documentation and licensing materials.
