The Fanta Building at the Main Railway Station is the largest and one of the most significant Art Nouveau buildings in the Czech Republic. It was designed by architect Josef Fanta and served as the station’s passenger terminal from 1909 until 1977, when a new brutalist underground concourse and subterranean platforms were opened.

The Main Station in Prague was long called Gare Wilson in honor of the American president who played a significant role in the history of the creation of Czechoslovakia. In the sumptuously furnished lounges for distinguished guests were waiting for the train Thomas Alva Edison, Le Corbusier or Charlie Chaplin.

For the renovation of the historic main railway station in Prague, an uppercase typeface was created, drawing inspiration from the original architectural plans and the surviving Art Nouveau interior typography. The character set includes several alternate forms and custom ligatures, allowing for greater variety and expressiveness in display typography.
