Česko.Digital is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of digitalization in the Czech Republic. It operates as a combination of a think tank, an expert community, and an implementation partner for practical digital projects. The organization collaborates with public institutions, the nonprofit sector, and private companies.
The logotype was originally based on the monospaced typeface Botanika, as it could be constructed simply from two lines of text, with the punctuation marks of the first line forming the diacritics of the second. To create a stronger typographic identity, the typeface was completely redrawn so that each character could occupy its space more efficiently.
Typography set in a monospaced typeface often feels technical and uses space inefficiently. By redrawing overly narrow characters, refining the metrics, and introducing kerning, a new family was developed for everyday typographic use. While preserving the exact character of the logotype, it achieves a more harmonious rhythm and a distinctly more human appearance.
