Sandwich is a distinctive all-cap display typeface with roots in hand-drawn typography and advertising lettering. It combines the simplicity of a sans-serif typeface with subtly irregular details, such as slanted stroke endings, which give it a characteristic look. It is particularly well-suited for headlines and short texts where typography is intended to serve as a dominant visual element.
In addition to several alternative characters, the typeface includes around forty ligatures, which in this case are short two- to three-letter words, most often prepositions, conjunctions, and articles such as in, der, et, aux, or the. These characters, however, are placed one below the other.
